I took a quick trip from August 18th to the 21st, 2003 to Toledo to see Tim Herman, along with Keith McGrath, a friend of UofI Newman. We went to Cedar Point, but I didn't bring my camera for fear of it falling out on a coaster. I did take some pictures at the zoo where Tim works, and they are displayed below.
Tim holding an adorable baby turtle
At the aquarium, we went behind the scenes and saw some animals not on display, like this huge crab that had arrived just a few days prior.
The aquarium grows coral in this tank.
Jelly Fish (or Sea Jellies, I forget..) I though they looked rather cool.

It was hard to get a good shot of this guy from behind the glass. I got handle this octopus a little, and it was terribly cool. One arm latches on, then another, then another. Then fear sets in.. :) I didn't bust my camera when there wasn't a pane of glass between us because I think I was a bit too taken with the moment. It was really cool.
Hopefully I'll be back to Toledo sometime soon. There is good beer and a zoo is all the cooler when you're being guided by a biologist with keys to the place. :)
