Visiting the Steel City

Pittsburgh is a beautiful, fun city with lots of things to do. Here you'll find some pointers to places to stay and things to do while in Pittsburgh, besides attending Kathleen and Brian's wedding ceremony and reception, of course. With the wedding on Labor Day weekend, you may want to make a full visit of your trip to town. Enjoy the city.

On this page, we have a listing of hotels and some attractions.

Attractions

Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh: Kathleen's (unbiased) opinion is that these are some of the nation's finest museums. You'll find the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History within walking distance of one another in Oakland. The Carnegie Science Center is downtown near Heinz Field, and the Andy Warhol Art Museum is on the North Side.

Kennywood: One of the country's oldest amusement parks, and in the national registry of historic places. The park features a bunch of great coasters, Garfield's Nightmare and a Noah's Ark funhouse that is randomness taken physical form. See what Brian said about it.

The Pittsburgh Pirates: A major league baseball game can be a ton of fun, right? Sure, it's not the Cubs, but what can you do? We'll put word here if they have a home game over the wedding weekend. Update: Okay, so it is the Cubs. As of now, it looks like the Pirates are playing a home game against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, September 4th. It may be a popular game for the midwesterners at the wedding..
